Kyoto Station Building

I came to historical Kyoto this time.  I will introduce Kyoto's sightseeing locations for a while.

First of all, Kyoto station!

Kyoto station building was built in 1997.  This complex consists of a music theater, Hotel Granvia Kyoto, souvenir shops, department stores, an art museum, and restaurants.  If it is between 11:00 ~ 17:00 on weekdays, World currency shop is also open for foreign travelers.

In front of the Kyoto station, there is Kyoto Tower.  The tower was built in 1964, and the height is 131m.  The special thing about this tower is the architecture, that is unlike the Effel Tower or Tokyo Tower, a steel beam truss is not used for this tower.  You can go to Kyoto Tower Observation Deck which is 100m high.  (The ticket price is JPY770 for an adult.)

In the West Zone of the building, you can go up to the rooftop observatory by an escalator which is extended straight in the building.

By the escalator... goes up

 up higher...
To the rooftop... from the rooftop of the West Zone, you can look down the Kyoto city.

On the other hand, from the East Zone, you can see the Kyoto Tower lit up beautiful.

And of course, do not forget to buy the souvenirs.  Please be careful because most shops are closed at 20:00 pm.

Experience Japan!
