Twinkling Illumination - Tokyo Midtown Christmas

It is Christmas time! Even though Japan is the country of Shinto and Buddhism, we also celebrate Christmas. Japanese Christmas is thought very commercial, not so religious. Towns in Tokyo are covered with illumination, this time I went to Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi. The Christmas theme at Tokyo Midtown is "Everyone is somebody's Santa Claus".

From the left side of the main entrance, walking through Starlight Road of Midtown Garden, you will see a pinkish 60-year-old big camphor tree, whose name is the miracle tree.

Then, walking toward the Grass Square, illuminated Starlight Garden welcomes you.  About 280,000 LED lights are used for this garden, and the lights express universe. New technology, "Crossover Illumination," which the lights can cross overhead are seen.

Let's get inside of the building, you might be chilled to the bone.  A very cute Santa Claus Christmas Tree is in the front side entrance of Midtown Galleria. There are also some cafes inside of the building, take a rest.

You can enjoy the lights with Tokyo Tower, too.

Tokyo Midtown Illumination is held till Dec25, 2013. The illumination time is from 17:00 to 23:00. It will be very crowded and you might have to wait for a long time. Please make sure to dress up warm enough.
