Japanese Breakfast @ Sukiya

Japanese beef bowl restaurant chains usually sell Japanese typical breakfast in the morning.  If you would like to try unique Japanese foods such as Natto (fermented soybeans) and raw egg, visit beef bowl restaurant like Yoshinoya, Matsuya, and Sukiya.

Today, I went to Sukiya, which offers breakfast from 5:00 to 10:30 in the morning.

Here is the menu. The prices are pretty reasonable, aren't they?

I ordered Natto (fermented soybeans) breakfast with pork miso soup instead of regular miso soup. The breakfast includes rice, soup, Natto (fermented soybeans), raw egg, toasted laver, and cooked seaweed.  The price is 380 JPY.

My husband ordered salmon breakfast with Japanese beef stew.  It includes rice, soup, baked salmon, beef stew, toasted laver, and cooked seaweed. The price is 420JPY.  The beef stew is Teriyaki taste. Salted salmon is very popular breakfast food in Japan even though they are mainly imported from other countries...

Natto is really fermented, so it smells. Some people do hate Natto including my husband even though I ate it next to him ^o^  Adding sauce and green onion, Natto (fermented soybeans) needs to be stirred till you can see the foam, at least 50 times! It is very sticky and slimy, be careful when you eat it. Natto is good for your health.

Japanese eggs are fresh and you can eat raw.  Adding a little bit special soy sauce and stir it, and pour it on steamed rice.  This style is very popular and some restaurants offers only this egg rice as their special.

More than 1,800 Sukiya beef bowl restaurants in Japan, you can easily find them.  Yoshinoya and Matsuya also offer similar breakfast.
